Our recent travels in Asia we returned with the echo of a dual meet : first with the culture and the complex situation in Taiwan, the former Formosa, Then with the work of a great writer and activist, Li Ang.

Ang Li takes us through multiple characters, in the heart of the universe Taiwan, restoring the human detail, its ambivalences and multiple affiliations, its social singularities, ethnic and cultural : working these features as much ammunition, it catapults us into the universal that resonates in every society and in all of us.
Our theater adaptation of several novels of his work abundant, attempts to describe the explosion of modernity on funds 45 years of history (1945-1990), stirring the permanent return with even mythical register that characterizes traditional Asian attitude to its creators peaks.
Driven by the dual character of Rose / Ayako, this partition made of down time and the most current projections, declines battles against colonialism and authoritarianism : women's rights, homosexuality and fight against AIDS, respect for minorities and fight for democracy.
As a recitative, the theme of food and sex as instruments of pleasure and death, articulates these tensions at work in our society. As it evokes the years 80, with the advent of AIDS and the beginnings of the democratization of Taiwan, that the early 50, in full white terror, with its corollaries famine, political and social oppression extreme repression vis-à-vis especially women ...
The same idea directs passages from one social class to another : make visible some mishaps present in the daily lives of people miserable, inhabitants of a suburb of fishermen and the protagonists of a separatist aristocracy, opposed to power up.
In the same sequence we see the politician resistant dictatorial power meditating in prison before the beef noodle soup and the wife of the butcher, pushed to the limit, eventually murdering rapist husband, his executioner.
Or two periods of the same character, Confinement in The Garden of aberrations lived alongside a father, great humanist, Rebel power, power obtained by combining the new economic leaders of the island.
It is to such aberrations that we invite you, garden theater struggles and representations, at the crossroads of unique cultures, hoping you find, from your personal experience, universality animated backgrounds for each character.
